 +
 +
 +The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) ghgdata greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory houses information on U.S. facilities that emit 25,000 metric tons of GHGs or more per year. Data is available for power plants, petroleum and natural gas systems, refineries, chemical manufacturers, waste storage, metal manufacturing, mineral manufacturing, pulp and paper manufacturing, and other industries for 2010 and 2011. Over half of all U.S. GHG emissions are accounted for from the 8,439 facilities that provided emissions data to the EPA.
 +
 +
 +Facilities can be found by geographical location or by industry type. Additional filters can be applied to petroleum and natural gas systems, chemical manufacturers, waste storage, metals manufacturing, minerals manufacturing, pulp and paper manufacturing, and other industries to allow researchers to quickly find the exact facilities of interest.

 +===== Example Uses =====
 +
 +
 +ghgdata can be used to help quantify process emissions from a variety of industries that emit GHGs during production. This can be useful for when attempting to construct profiles of GHG intensive products like primary metals.
