Vehicle Electrification
Objectives

To support aggressive vehicle electrification, electrical systems and devices will have to achieve higher conversion efficiencies and power/energy densities than are currently possible. The next generation PEVs will benefit from novel electric motors, thermoelectric waste heat recovery, and power electronic devices and electrical topologies that are capable of handling increased loads and accessories through the coordination of multiple sources. This thrust area focuses on the development of enabling technologies as well as design and analysis tools for next generation electrified vehicles.
